He served as a United States Senator from the state of Florida from January 1989 until January 2001. After leaving the Senate, he served as senior policy advisor in the government relations practice at Shaw Pittman from February 2001 until February 2005. Senator Mack is chairman of the parent board of the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute. He is also a director of Mutual of America Life Insurance Co., Darden Restaurants, EXACT Sciences Corporation and Moody's Corp. and Spirit Aerosystems.
