Genzyme is dedicated to the safety and integrity of our products. Worldwide markets for biopharmaceutical products are generally well regulated for the secure delivery of medicines. The size of the biopharmaceutical market and increasing patient demand for medicinal therapies can attract individual criminals and criminal organizations who seek to profit from world markets through counterfeit, adulterated, diverted, or stolen pharmaceuticals. The threats of these altered medicines, including toxicity, instability, and ineffectiveness, may be increasing globally. If altered medicines are not identified prior to patient administration, patient health is put at jeopardy.

Product Security

Genzyme has proactively initiated an anti-counterfeiting program for product distribution that is intended to safeguard the global supply of Genzyme products. Genzyme has integrated unique identification features within packaging components for product verification and will continue to monitor or audit our global distribution network. Delivering unaltered products to patients is our continuing commitment.
